I have spent the past 20 years advising and building technology-based businesses in both traditional and digital media. With a foundation in Communication and Human Centered Design from Carnegie Mellon University, I help grow businesses by design. I seek out and invest in understanding audiences to create authentic connections between the business and customers through integrated, memorable product and marketing engagements.
Today, I am the Director of Digital Customer Experience at Highmark Health—a national health and wellness organization and the second largest integrated delivery and financing system in America. In my role at Highmark, I guide an integrated design and development team to deliver best-in-class technology for our members using a blend of Human Centered Design and Agile methodologies.
Previous to Highmark, I cofounded Inquiri with Cameron Scott. We were a consumer experience design consultancy that partnered with clients to plan, design, build, and market great web and mobile experiences. By integrating product strategy, product design, product management, product development, and product marketing within one team, Inquiri was able to cost-efficiently augment early stage technology teams while helping them look holistically at the problem, leverage relevant experiences, work from metrics, deliver quickly, and stay lean.
Prior to Inquiri, I cofounded Thinktiv with Justin Petro. Thinktiv is a thriving commercial accelerator in Austin, where I spent a decade helping over 200 companies go to market—and stay there. Using its home grown playbook, Thinktiv continues to help clients through the essential stages of growth typically deploying a significantly improved business in under 120 days. As Founder and Chief Creative Officer, I helped grow Thinktiv from a two-person consultancy to a 20+ person innovation powerhouse still operating in the Austin startup-technology sector.
I live in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my wife, our two young children, and an Italian Greyhound.
